As much as i read i know nothing to choose the right oil bypass filtration system for my ISX. Please share your opinion. I have read some stories for wiped out camshaft because of that http://solutions.letstruck.com/Answers/View/5838/Why+wouldn't+wiped+out+camshaft+show+in+oil+sample
i am really confused.
What oil bypass filtration system on ISX should i choose? What you got on your ISX?

The engine type is irrelevant with bypass products. They work the same on any engine. I suggest Gulf Coast, thats what i run. They have a good history behind them with science to back it up. Also, TA carries theyre filters.
CellNet Thanks this. -
All of the major named bypass units do a very good job. They all filter down to a level that will prevent crap from building up in your oil. Each one has feature(s) that some may or may not like.
I had a FS2500 on my ISX, and now on my Detroit 60. I prefer it for one main reason.... I like simplicity and extreme ease of installation. It comes as a complete kit matched to your truck and engine combination. I installed it on each truck in about an hour for each install. No having to track down hose, fittings, whatever. You have all you need to install. Only thing on your part is drilling the holes in the frame to mount it.
It is not better or worse than any other bypass filter. it does a great job. They recommend changing filters at 10,000 mile intervals, but I always take the filters on out to 20,000 miles and still have soot levels less than 1 on my oil samples. I suppose I could take the filters longer.
Gulf Coast, OPS, Amsoil, FS2500, and don't forget the Spinner II centrifuge, are all good. But depending on the unit, it can become a Popular Mechanics project lasting several hours getting it all figured out and installed. I didn't want to waste the time. The FS2500 made it real easy to get it on and then enjoy my weekend. Now if you want to spend a lot of time and tinker with projects, feel free, and some of these units will really help you burn up some serious time getting it installed. -
Has anyone tried that SpinnerII one just Curious to how well it holds up seems like with the Moving parts it would wind up being just another thing to fix although i like that it has a reusable container, as for me though Im pretty much set on Buying a OPS1 in september

Most of the Gulf Coast systems I've seen seem to make a larger mess during servicing than the smaller filters, also more difficult to package without blocking access to other components. JMHO, something to consider.
I've serviced a bunch of SpinnerIIs, they seem to be pretty reliable. -
