I was at cr england in burns harbor and went into indiana bmv to get my cdl permit. Passed all 4 required tests in 40 minutes was happy went to be put into bmv system and pay . Then was told that something poped up and they wouldnt be able to give me a permit. Was told to contact the state the hit came from and resolve it. Called up the state in question and the info dosent match me only my name. Indiana told me that they entered my info correctly twice.......so I left came home florida my home state has no such info found on me when they run the check and even renwed my license for me. I also stoped in illinois on the way home and asked them to check it also came back negative.

My question is what in the frick is indiana checking when they run my info for a cdl permit. Cdlis? Dosent this only pertain the actuall cdl holders? Or the ndr? As far as im aware all states check this even for non cdl holders.....is there a different check when getting your cdl from a normal non cdl license?

I would just pay the ticket but its not mine but mostly because its a 1500$ ticket and will take 30 days to be removed. Also the collection agency the ticket is at wont let me pay it because I dont know any of the info and dont have matching license numbers to the ticket

Indiana has become the worst state in the nation for being anti-trucker. Michigan is running second. It was Ohio before in first place.

You will have to get a lawyer to straighten the mess out. Don't pay the ticket because then they will probably put it on your MVR because paying it means you plead guilty. You may be better off just going back home, get the problem solved, then apply with another company other than CR England.

Why pay a ticket if it is not yours? Esp a $1500 ticket, that is saying it is yours.

Dispute it with the collection agency if they are contacting you. Also, ask IN for a print out of the dispute, with this you then can fax it to the state that has the outstanding ticket and dispute it with them.

If the license numbers do not match up, but the collection agency does know the license number, then ask them to contact that state that filed it with the collection agency and get the name corrected.

You can have more than one person with the same name.

You will need to contact all three credit reporting companies also, since it is over $50 and see if they have it on your credit report. If so, and it is not your ticket, dispute it with the Credit companies also.

It all takes time. Don't go off the deep end on this. Work with the companies to straighten your record out.

I recall when I was in the military and Sears put a statement on my Credit reports for failing to pay for a woman's haircut/styling. I noted the dates of the appointment and when I was back in the states on TDY ( I was stationed on Okinawa (3yrs), I called Sears and ask them why would my wife travel from Japan to VT just to get her hair cut. I don't think that the stylist is that good. They come to find out they transcripted the last # wrong which put it on my account..

I did make statements and submit them to the Credit companies, disputed the charge, and it was dropped off.

Things do happen in the computers sometimes that will cross records.

I was going to pay the ticket if it was cheap just to get my permit because I didnt want to have to leave. But im not paying a 1500 ticket no way. Other then getting a lawyer involved for alot of money there really isint anyway iv tried all other avenues.the collection agency just hanges up on me now after I tell them what im calling about. I dont have the money to pay lawyer fees

Iv been doing searches but the only thing that comes up is the ndr check and every dmv/bmv runs this for every license and every permit. I dont understand why indiana is denying me when 2 other states say there is nothing

Id go else where for cdl training to a different state but I dont want to waste my time and be denied again. Id do it in florida but dont have my own truck nor a teacher. And as far as im told your not allowed to contact the branches on bmv in indiana only the 800 number but that dosent get you far

You did not happen to stop in IL and check your MVR. They don't freely give that info out and especially to out of state people. Why would you stop in IL on your way back to FL when you don't go through IL to get to FL from IN? :biggrin_2552:

There is no collection agency either because I went through a similar thing with FL in 1995. You have to contact the court clerk at the place of the infraction and pay them directly. I'd say your license is cancelled or suspended by now until you clear this up. The moment you go to get your CDL permit you graduate to the CDLIS system.

Mine tracked me through 4 states of issue to a speeding ticket I had when I was 16 years old. I had to pay each state and clear the mess up. The best part I wasn't even driving but switched drivers with a so called friend who didn't have a license after we passed a trooper doing 80 mph. He said he would pay the ticket and never did. The new states I moved to were as clueless as I. As soon as the CDLIS was ran it all back fired on me from 1977 forward.

Man up, pay the fine and clear up your past. There is no beating the system. Remember that when you go truck driving and follow the regulations or you'll have future problems.

Yes I did stop in illinois lol its very easy to go through there its only 20 miles from burns harbor indiana . Who said I took a direct route home. And as far as I know or atleast in illinois you can check your mvr /ndr record all you have to do is pay there checking fee. And when you were 16 maybe they didnt do collection agencies but they now send every delinquent account over to a collection agency . You pay the collection agency and they take there sweet time 20-30 days to clear it then they notify the actual county clerk office the sitation is from then they remove it from the system usually about a week.
