I tried looking this up in other posts, but was not able to find a real answer after looking through @#*! near 40 posts!

What months begin and end the slow freight season? Is it especially slow freight right now? If so, when is it expected to pick up?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Keep your wheels turning safely!

Generally, the first quarter is slow.

For reefer, it's the first quarter, especially February. Although even in April, it seems very hit-or-miss right now. The best time is at the heart of any growing season in the country if you're in the area. Rates will really pick up. Another good time is Nov. and Dec., because of all the Thanksgiving/Christmas food moving around.

It needs to warm up and give it 3 weeks, then freight will be good.

depends on the type of trailer, part of the country. Mid March till Mid May can be very slow for containers, especially inbounds from S.E. Asia and China.
