Hey guys if this is in the wrong spot tell me and I’ll move it. I found a set of jakes for my mechanical 3406c. Problem is the model tag is worn off. Anyone care to take a stab a what model they are. Thanks. Btw I’m looking for a set of 346d or 349a if anyone has a complete set to sell. Thanks.
What model jake heads are these?

I have 346d on my 3406c and that picture doesn’t look like mine. Alledgely you will not find a 349a they’re too rare but I’d like to find a set too

Found a set last week close to me but they sold. Sold for 2500 cdn.

The 349A worked well but it was problematic and expensive to keep working properly over the long term.
I would be hesitant to buy a used pair of heads.spsauerland Thanks this. -
Got an old boy who is the man at setting them up. They will work fine. Unless I find some 346d first. No one knows what’s model these are hey.

Is there a “front>>>” and “<<<rear” cast into them? My 346’s have that, maybe those are a pacbrake of somekind. Seems there’s guys who had bad luck with 349’s and some who get a million miles out of them. The 349 need some kind of special tool to adjust them but they’re supposed to have more braking power. My 346’s on my 3406c are roughly 1/2 to 2/3 as strong as the 340 on my 3406e I had

Ya the old boy has all the tools. Ya it’s a gamble on how they will work. I also have a brake saver so it’ll be deadly to have both. Iv been trying to look at castings online to see if the 349 is different cause it must be. But if these are the b or c jake in 346 I don’t want em.

Some other angles of them.

The yellow and blue plates would have had the model number on them. Carefully clean them and you might be able to see what they are.

Looking at your pictures I'm pretty sure those are 349 Jake brakes.
