Hey, everyone. I recently purchased a 2000 Kenworth that has an N14 Cummins. I’ve always ran Mobil Delvac in my Detroits, but I’m curious if there is a specific oil that owner-operators prefer to run in their Cummins N14. Thanks for your comments.

How many miles? Find out what’s in the engine now, I’d stick with whats working!

If I remember correctly, My 95 KW with a 435/1650 Celect N-14 had a Delvac recommendation sticker on it when I bought it new. I don't remember if I stuck with the same oil the whole time I owned the truck. It was an outstanding motor! Embarrassed many 500 Cats with it!

My T2000 KW with N14 ran Delvac, I swapped to Schaffer 15-40, no problem at 965k miles no inframe.

The only brands I've seen a difference is traveller (tractor supply) and farm rated (fleet farm) the motor uses an extra gallon per 12,000 miles.
I do oil samples every change with similar results. I've used all brands, now I mostly use citgo semi-synthetic because that's what the mechanic stocks.Bean Jr., blairandgretchen and jldilley Thank this. -
Walmart Super Tech,,,hey, don't laugh, it's the #1 selling automotive oil, repackaged Quaker State, no foolin'. For a Cummins, I ran Rotella, a choice most companies I drove for recommended if adding on the road. Once, I added Delo on the road, told the boss, he immediately brought the truck in for an oil change.

There is just over 325,000 miles on the engine.blairandgretchen and nikmirbre Thank this.
