I usually start my day between 0200-0300 and drive about 10.5 hours a day. By starting out this early I never worry about parking. I stay out on average 4 weeks (strictly my choice) and take 5-7 days off.
What is your work schedule like?

I usually run 2 day trips avg 1100 miles. Try to keep loading/ delivery days Mon Wed and Fri. I can run 3 one week and 2 next week.Prefer; to run weekend.I get good rest on that one. Otherwise I can do 3 trips a week and reset on Weekend bumping 67-70 hrs. A couple weeks like that and it’s 5+ days off at home or at least a weekend off in warmer weather

Mine is a nice routine. I like it anyway, but it changes as time goes by to allow me to get up earlier and earlier to avoid traffic, but normally
3:00-4:00 wake up, do a full body workout with stuff I keep with me. Then its breakfast which is a protein shake, vitamin pills, fish oil pills, a 2tbsp of chia seeds in water (fiber) and a coffee. Then if I'm in a spot where I can and I have time, it's S.S.S. (shower ect. Ect.) Then off to work.
16hours later (Canadian hours 14 if I'm in the US) I have a snack or dinner depending on how hungry I am. Check my emails, read some articles on whatever tickles my fancy then off to bed and lather rinse repeat.
Do this for 16-21 days straight, then I break routine, have some beer, crappy food, and do nothing. Home maybe every 4 weeks if I feel homesick.cybill234, Samarquis and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
On average.
Monday through Friday 2130 to 0400~
Weekends off, as well as home everyday.
This is a 365 mile linehaul run, no complaints.bottomdumpin, Bluedew, Fuelinmyveins and 2 others Thank this. -
Right now I’m working 5 days a week, 1500 start time. Anywhere from a 8-12+ hr day. Average 9.5 hrs/day and around 300 miles/day.
Going to 6 days a week this week and should stay there most of the time through next fall, unless I decide otherwise. Once things pick up in the spring I’ll average around 11+ hrs a day.
I run one of the same few routes everyday. Usually one load/unload that typically takes 30 minutes each. Two loads/unloads are common during busier season.
I’m home every night, paid hourly with OT after 40, and am treated great by my employer and dispatch, drive a well kept 2015 w900. All facilities are top notch, clean, and easier to work at.
I have absolutely zero complaints about the way my first year of trucking went. OTR for 8 months hauling chemicals then local hauling water the last 4 months and have no plans of changing.bottomdumpin, Bluedew, Fuelinmyveins and 2 others Thank this. -
Start between 23:30-6:00 run between 1-5 loads as many as possible in 15 hours depending on dispatch and conditions, miles anywhere between 180-700, 8-11 hour reset. Only consistent things are home 99% of nights and 67-70 hours M-F almost every week. Dry bulk cement
