If you're telling me that a Volvo chassis isn't the same as a Mack Chassis...I've got news for you...
I think I clearly stated creature comforts. The interior of our Kenworth is hands down FAR nicer than any volvo I've been in and or driven. Towing, well you get two equally equipped trucks and they will pull just about the same, so I didn't think that needed to be touched on. I'm extremely happy with all of our Paccar products both on a company truck level and on an o/o level. And I never said anything about the MX series engines, all of our company Paccar trucks are Cummins ISX equipped, just like the volvo I posted above was.
This interior, features, configuration, and build quality is way nicer than just about any other newer truck I've driven.

my truck ;
bought it new in june 2007, Volvo 780 mode "08, I have 1,420,000 miles original motor Volvo D13 / eaton 13 manual transmission; not perfect but not bad and excellent on fuel, 8mpg average; great team truck, large sleeper and cabinets, good size fridge, quiet inside, smooth suspension; My last truck was a Volvo 770, still i don't see a better spacious team truck out there, I would buy a Volvo 780 again;rexmanno and double yellow Thank this. -

My company has both Kenworth T680's and Volvo 780's. The Volvo runs circles around the KWs in terms of comfort and room.
rexmanno Thanks this. -
I had I believe an 07 Volvo company truck, can't remember now. Volvo engine was pretty strong but it liked egr valves. Other than that it was trouble free to the million mile mark when I got out of it. Any other complaints I had were to do with how the company spec'd it out when they got it.

owned a volvo 670 for six years never had issue with getting parts best dealer network ever. If a dealer did not have a part they can see the part inventory from all dealers in the us and will have the part overnighted no charge. Use dealers in Texas Fl GA PA for repairs all of them got me right in and back on the road. Now own a freightliner worst mistake ever these dealers suck they could care less about you. just my point veiw volvo out performs freightliner hands down.
HAWAIIANTHRIVER Thanks this. -
i drove a volvo for a while i was far from impressed. dash rattled bad, esp the fues box cover in the top of the dash where the cb attaches. interior felt cheap storage layout sucked. truck handled cross winds bad the whole cab would lean in a strong crosswind. the air ride front would bottom out easily on a bad bumps. several electrical issues. headlights sucked a old foggy sealed beam could easily outshine on the low beams. the forward cab was roomy but if your thermos rolled over to the passenger side you had to pull over to reach it. ac couldn't hardly keep up on a hot sunny day.
the truck was a 2006 volvo 670/680 whatever i cant quite remember, it wasn't the biggest bunk but the next size down. typical fleet spec truck not a o/o spec. -
Your getting those Pac-car boys mad they love paccar pete's and w9 but your right paccar cant build a truck to save their life. When your talking about out class the volvo 780 is the biggest volvo and the w900 is a lamborgini of trucking a peterbilt 379 is a buggati so when we think kenworth and peterbilt still carry a higher resale value because everyone wants one. Also a peterbilt 379-388-389 arent fleet trucks a volvo 670 and a 780 and fleet trucks -

Dear All. I drove Volvo Freightliner and Kenworth ... every truck can be amazing and every truck can be worst. If somebody take care of it its runs over million miles if not after 50 miles broke down!
I drove Freightliner Cascadia and Columbia. Inside looking terrible! Not comfortable and noisy! When anything need to be replaced you can find parts almost anywhere and cost way less than any other truck!
Volvo! Amazing truck! Nice runs like swiss watch. Full of sensor and have no place and time and knowledge to fix it! My cummins engine always get to hot last year and nobody can tell me what is the problem! Even Volvo dealer! So we change a to z everything over $6000! Than cooler is blow up! Not kidding! Yes this happened at Sacramento... up hill! So they change my cooler! 5500! So this issue already 11000! And its not end! After 700 miles engine (as usual ) turned off! Overheating! Middle of nowhere! I made a few calls and nobody wanna come over and look at it so i almost called tow truck, then one guy called me back. He was really not friendly guy! Actually i hate him than he said my cooler fan have problem! Its cost 1700! I said no way again 1700! he said he will fix it if not this is the problem he will give my money back! I said ok. So he did it! he figured out! Nobody ever told me anything about my fan! Anyway... So since then just my dashboard turning off and my lights are turning off when its raining! Than i drove Kenworth for 4 months. Super noisy truck! CAT engine is eating crazy! Feels like I'm setting on the rock! Sleeping in that truck when engine is on impossible! Automatic transmission terrible!
Another owner operator have Volvo 2003 with detroit 60 engine! He is 70 years old guy and he's truck have over 1.8 million miles! Engine only have 780000 miles! He is newer broke down!
DONT GET ANYTHING WITH DEF!
if you have 70000 get Volvo and maintained ! make sure you know all Volvo service is closed Friday at 4:30 pm and reopen monday at 8! So if you have problems you will stay there for a lot while!
If you have under 40000 get freight liner and fix it up.not best looking trucks but runs forever soon you take care of it! Get american made not the Mexican one!
if you have time and money get older truck and build it up this is the best solution! getting 2002-2008 trucks and make it the best for how you want it. Cummins or Volvo or detroit engine all can go over million miles! Take care of it! rebuild engine is cost 12-20000 but runs forever! 10 speed manual is the best for my job. Inside you can throw away everything and make it up how you want it cost less than 3000! If you wanna work make your workplace the best for you! So in 55000 you can have amazing older looking truck!
Don't forget! Always the tires most important! be safe drive safe ... everybody wanna go home and see the family! I hope i help you a little.
Sorry my english is not the best. Im Hungariansimon999, pearcetrucking and Kuzyk Thank this.
