Never done them on a Volvo but its a couple hour job for sure in most cases. Usually a lot quicker and easier if you cut u-bolts rather than waste time trying to save them.
Diesel Dave, Bean Jr. and Big Road Skateboard Thank this. -
couple hours 3 ish

Dealer wants 12 hours labor at $176 per hour.
I realize the dealer is always the most expensive way to go. But I prefer them for some things. Due to the nation wide warranty vs the small local guy. Who says ok bring it back here, when your thousands of miles away.
However it looks like I am going to use them for just diagnostic again.

I usually charged around 6hrs which included alignment.
What is this nationwide warranty? Have yoy ever tried to use it? -
But yes many times over the years. I have gone back to another dealer. To warranty something. It's usually 1 year on parts and labor. -
Volvo uses threaded pins/bushings and mechanic should know special procedure how to install new.Stringb8n Thanks this. -
AModelCat Thanks this.

Unless Volvo has some weird stuff going on up front the 12 hours must be a worst case scenario estimate. I'd say 6 is pretty reasonable.

There are 4 bushings but two of they come pre pressed (installed) with new springs.
Anyway now dealer is saying. Because truck is a 2013 with over a million miles. They want 12 hours just in case. But wont bill me for 12 (ya right) if it takes significantly less time.
( sounds like bull to me because dealer has always charged book time)
