Hello, i would like to know what is the difference in cb radios. Is it worth it to buy an expensive one? what would be a good one to buy for a new truck driver?

You'll be running factory antennas, so just pickup a basic cobra or something similar. If you want to install better gear start from the ground up with a full installation.
If you try to run 100 watts into an integrated antenna system you'll get to watch your 400$ radio burn up in a day.
Not a lot of people even leave their CB on anymore, and most shippers/receivers I've been to in the past year prefer to just call you on your cell when they're ready.bored silly and rabbiporkchop Thank this. -
Buy a Cobra 25 or 29.

Now what the trick is lies in the antenna, trucks for the most part coming out of the factory for the last 20 years have had issues with antennas and this has to be fixed before worrying about the radio.
Hope that helps.rabbiporkchop Thanks this. -

I started off with like a 30 dollar Cobra 19. A very basic radio. But it was MY FIRST radio and it's almost like having a hold of your first love together somewhere away from nosy parents and busy body siblings and friends...
When that wore off and I learned it's limitations I eventually adopted the Uniden pc76xl as my personal radio. It offers a way to match to whatever antennas that might be on the truck via the SWR and Squelch to discard noise and static. It did not unfortunately have single side band which is useful from time to time for privacy.
