Just my curious mind at work. Does anyone know what the big capital "D" stands for in the middle of the oversize load banners in Canada??

The big D is over dimensional but the funny thing is, that the states do not recognize it as stating that they only recognize the yellow signs that say "oversize load", "wide load" or "long load"

Yes, Quebec does not recognize the yellow oversize banners, you must have the "D" banner.

Thank you for your replies. I know the regs. etc. I was just curious as to what specifically the D stood for....a first letter of what word?? Just a chosen symbol I suppose. Again, thank you kindly for your responses. :)
