First of all I am sure that this question has been asked before - but, I do not see it on this forum history so I do not want to offend anyone and get flamed. I have drove CDL HAZMAT for 24 years so this is not my first rodeo but, I want to ask how does one go about reporting a (HAZMAT) company for unsafe truck physical conditions? What is most effective? I haul propane and have been "pushed" into a 30 year old truck with multiple safety violations. This is not my first rodeo but, I have never worked for a company with total disregard to FSMCA and DOT policy to the point where I feel like I may not make it until the end of the day.
Today, I refused to drive an UNSAFE truck - with leaking 1075 and broken mirrors and a non-working emergency shut off switch (and I took pictures) and was then sent home because the company would not repair. How should I report this issue? Please advise.

What is the best way to report company for UNSAFE vehicle (refusal to drive)?

That's an easy one call and report them to DOT.

You are protected by OSHA to not drive unsafe equipment nor be retaliated against for refusing to drive unsafe equipment..
Then you have this angle.

what they said, call dot, Osha protects you and if the company fires you, you can sue for lost backed wages. If you back there and drive another truck, keep a log (date and time) of all truck problems, dot violation or not. It shows a pattern.
