Make your company pay for them! Then you can't complain too much if it isn't exactly a five star joint!

I have never found one, but here's what I do, first ask them if they have a CDL rate, should get you some kinda discount, then after they tell me the price, (let's say it's 75.00) I tell them that the company will only go to (pick a reasonable number) 60 bucks, more times than not, I get it for that price.

I have Best Western, Wyndham, IHG, and Choice Privileges which covers probably 90% of the name brand hotel locations. I can't say that one is much better than another. Being a trucker, you often don't have choice of where to stay in a given area, so don't confine yourself to one hotel group rewards card.

If I had to choose one that may provide faster points earnings for me, I'd probably choose Best Western. But I'll often stay at independent hotel/motels when they are the only choice and the savings will typically offset not accruing any points [versus if I were to have spent $30-$40 more at a name brand down the street to earn points]

Looks like Choice has an 18 month lifespan where points fall off.

Also, be advised, that some locations who offer a special "trucker rate", they may not allow points to be earned in addition to the discount offered. But in my experience, this rarely happens.

Choice points only expire after 18months of inactivity... If your a 'Basic" Choice rewards member the downside is if you do receive free nights credit it has to be booked 30 days in advance which generally isn't going to help the majority of truck drivers.

You can use Choice Rewards points to buy a room same day. I bought (booked) a free stay at a Rodeway Inn near Tacoma a month or so ago, same day.
