I drive a standard company tractor trailer (dry van). I cannot find anywhere what is my maximum width. I’m trying to set up a truck profile for my GPS.
Thank you

8 wide. I put 10 on mines because I don't want the bugger to put me in tiny roads.

Thanks Fx

Don't put exactly 8. 8ft is the trailer your mirrors add another .5 ft. So absolute minimum would be 8.5ft.

102 inches on dry van. 8'6 if you can't convert it to ft.

I'd say about 68inches after that you might be pinching yourself with the seatbelts buckle or be jammed on the steering wheel.
Lol. Sorry I had to.
If it's going into the GPS I'd err on the side of caution and add a little. However, I wouldn't go over 10' as there are numerous roads or sections of roads, at least where I am, that prohibit trucks over 10' wide. -
You go by vehicle width - not including mirrors. Unless your trailer is around 30 years old (8' wide), you go by the current standard of 8'6" wide. Don't trick your GPS into thinking you're oversize. You are not.

I told my student once to go get the 12ft ladder out of the side box about 15 minutes later he got back in the truck a little ruffled lmao

What does the permit in your truck say?

I can’t help but be horrified by the whole GPS thing.
Bob Dobalina and TripleSix Thank this.
