I have a ####er Spaniel that goes with me everyday. He is a great dog and loves to come with me on the road and he is a pleasure to have around. What in your opinion is the best trucking dog and why?

Best trucking dog- the dog you love enough to provide all the attention it needs.
I have a rough collie that usually stays at home because he has been use to getting a 3 mile run everyday. That doesn't happen on the road. I have taken my sons Old english bull dog with me and he loved to sit on the passenger seat and watch the world go by.He didn't need or want more than 15 minutes exercise at a stop. I have seen some beautiful dobies but I would want to give them more exercise than I could give them on the road. Lots of mixed breeds that look like wonderful dogs and beagles. I didn't know there were so many beagles around.
My Collie can jump into the truck but the Bulldog had to be lifted in. Not everyone would want to be picking up a 90lb dog.
For the people who are just getting a buddy-Get a toe nail clipper and know how to use itLogan76 Thanks this. -
None. I have yet to meet anyone who carries a dog with them that does not have a truck that smells like a kennel. It's why more and more companies including mine are not allowing pets. The clean up costs when the person gets out of the truck are too high.

I have a 4 1/2 lb Yorkie that rides with me, and my truck doesn't smell like a kennel.
Good thing about the Yorkie breed is they don't shed like other dog's. ( So no dog hair allover the place ) At his size he doesn't need much room, that is till it's time for bed . He has most of the bed while I lay on the edge of it.
He is great company, and he is a bit of a character. -
A stuffed dog !!! LOL no need to walk it or feed it or water it and you can pet it and love it ...... it wont smell and it wont shed and it wont run off kind of like a blow up girl friend
LOL
Milr72, Tonythetruckerdude, snowblind and 6 others Thank this. -
Two I like are Teacup Poodle & Beagle. Both small enough to not smell the truck & are easy going.
