My worst was 4 cases of prime rib going into Hunts Point in the DAY TIME! I've had 1 tag stolen and yes it was bolted on well, 4 brand new LED tail lights and had ALL the lights stolen off a trailer that was sent across the border from El Paso. I had my first and only Ranger CB stolen waaay back in the 80's and never bought a "big" one since! My Uniden PC76 XL puts out 24 watts (yes with a replaced final when the original burnt out after 12 years), a Tom Clancy book off the dash, and a full set of chains and binders from off the load and side box! I was inside getting a shower and eating! It was also on my next to last flatbed load I hauled as that's way to much work! 3 spare tires out of the rack 2 of which were badly damaged and couldn't be rethreaded! Thanks to those idiots for saving the cost of the environmental costs!
The covers off the back of the mirrors on a Volvo while it was at a truck wash over the weekend here in town. The NY HUD sticker off the front of the truck! It can be stolen using dry ice!
My load locks, and air lines going to the trailer, 1 set of almost dead 3 year old batteries, wiper blades and nozzles off of my old Pete, and several sets of fuel caps and no they were not left off as they had the chains on them and it was way after fueling not to mention maybe 300 gallons of fuel until I got smart and put locking fuel caps on. And the best was all the Chrome T handle dash bolts out of my Pete! They didn't even touch the CB or the new 8 track player or new Kenwood AM/FM radio or small TV I had! Go Figure that one!
    Sometimes thieves make no sence!

I don't recall ever having anything stolen off a rig. But then I've always been "security conscious," making sure everything is locked up that can be, and being careful where I park.

I know that no matter how careful you are, stuff happens. I was just lucky.

One of our drivers stopped at a J somewhere in SC to get his rest. Between the
spread axles on our drop deck trailers we have some tool boxes mounted under-
    neath.

The next morning when he woke up he noticed that they had cut the pad lock (we
put a clasp with a padlock so that we all have a key to every box) to open the box
then procceded to unbolt the toolbox and steal it.:biggrin_25510:

A pair of socks out of my overnight bag........ We stopped at a rest stop up in KY, a severe storm knocked out power to the craphouse, one of the other drivers saw my bag and grabbed a pair of socks & headed for the woods.

I suspended him for 2 runs due to that.....

This happened last week to friends of ours. They had stopped for a bite to eat while waiting on a load. They were at the Liberty truck stop in Phoenix. They weren't in there more than 15-20 minutes, but when they came back out, someone had stolen the battery box cover.....in broad daylight. :biggrin_25510:

Only thing I've ever had ripped off my truck was about 50 gallons of fuel, last year when it was in the four-buck-a-gallon range.

The tractor was sitting in my front yard. They stole it from the "dark" side, the one away from the house and out of any light (I usually keep the front lights on when I've got it parked there).

Found out about it the next morning as I pre-tripped...found the tank cap just a-hangin' there....

I was in my small pick up the other day. Got groceries then stopped at K-Mart for other stuff. While at K-Mart, someone stole all the groceries from the back of the truck (in bed) argh..
