what does these trucking abbreviations mean?

    HHG? I've seen others posted here. Remember, I'm new. I don't know what an abbreviation stands for or what it means. List all.

    HHG= house hold goods

    LTL= less than truckload

    TL=truckload

    CPM=cents per mile

    DOT=Department of Transportation

    ICC= interstate commerce commission

    PSI= pounds per square inch

    RQ=reportable quantities (hazmat information)

    this is the method used to calculate pay miles and you need to ask which scale is being used.
    if a load pays 800 miles Practical, you can add back 15% or 120 miles to the trip
    these are extra miles you will Not get paid for.

    HUB - actual odometer miles from A to B (rare)
    PRACTICAL- about 15% less than hub (standard)
    HHG - household goods 20% less than hub (rand mcnally short miles)
    AIR- 25% off less than hub (zip code to zip code)
