hello, I would like to know what is the best trucking company that has the best training with a mentor? I am with a mentor with a company but I feel like he just runs me for hours and does not care about anything beside making money. I just put in 11 hours into driving with little help. I try not to be a problem at all but I feel like this is for nothing. When I ask about the pretrip he logs me for pretrip and tells me to go eat breakfast or something. The one thing that I just want is to be a safe driver I understand what can happen if you don’t know you are doing with a big truck and can take many life’s because of someone not doing the right thing.

Have you tried getting a new trainer? If he tells you to go eat breakfast or something that would be a good time to start your pre trip. It's your CDL and if you're driving, it's your ticket.
Just passing by Thanks this. -
Ok....
When I read this in the column it said..
WHAT COMPANY HAS THE BEST CRAZYBREAD
That's why I'm here.Aamcotrans, Just passing by and tscottme Thank this. -
Didn't you already post a thread about the mentor deal?
Is this how it is?
Are you looking to quit that company now and move to another company while in training? -
He shouldn't be training anyone.
He has a responsibility that he agreed to when he accepted the "mentor" tag. -
Yes I am with the same company still just my training is not going so well. At this point I don’t think I would pass my upgrade test because of no backing like I only did 4 backing so far in 2 weeks together. All I do is take over no pre-trip at all and when I go to the scale he pop his head and he is don’t #### up and get the dot on us . Like I just run 10 hours and do that just driving and doing teams like this sucks no days off drive eat and sleep.

Do you have your CDL yet or is that part of your current training?

I have a cdl

I probably should have phrased the question differently. I'm assuming that your CDL was not associated with Prime at all and that you came to Prime with the CDL already in your pocket. If that's the case I would talk to some people at Prime, about switching trainers.
If you don't get any satisfaction I would leave.
You might look into CFI in Joplin Missouri. There is no team driving with your trainer your trainer is observing in the second seat and you're doing the driving unless you're fatigued.
I'm sure others will chime in, but the thing you want to pay attention to is that your trainer isn't sleeping while you're driving and vice versa. If your chosen company operate that way where is the training?
