If your dash lights are affected when you key up there is a good chance the antenna system has poor grounds. Does your T680 have the antenna mounted to the mirror arm? If so you can use a 6ft antenna, fiberglass antennas generally have coil at top which would get it above the cab roof.

Yeah it's the mirror ones I'm using a 6ft now or 4ft don't remember. I plan on putting new grounds on the antenna.

Get some fresh coax, route it and tune antenna..Once tuned everywhere there is a connect point i would use something like silicone or coax tape to keep connections dry and clean....Dont run coax so that it bends more than a few degrees or you dont want it gettin it pinched....Dont need two antenna or anything in an antenna that mid loaded like a wilson 2000,predator 10k or monkey made type antenna...Stick with a top load antenna with tuneable tip vs trim to tune via a wire..

With a height restriction of 13'6" subtract your mount height from your height restriction and that will tell you how long the antenna needs to be with minimum coil losses. Looks to be somewhere in the vicinity of 81 inches. This is the best installation I've seen on that particular truck.

Do you have the capability of soldering a new connector on without melting the foam Dielectric?

Yeah I went with a crimp style end so I don't gotta solder.
