We are in the market for a new class 7 rig.
It will be used for local/regional pickup and delivery of agricultural chemicals. It will have a 16' flatbed with rack sides on it and most the time see loads of approx 6-7 tons.

So far we are torn between the big 4 players in this catagory of rig... this is new territory for us. We have always ran one ton trucks, pickups and class 8's with doubles.

We are in the preliminary stages right now just trying to put together a list of wants and must haves for this truck.

Any input you can provide as far as reliability, driver comfort and so on for the peterbilt 337, Freightliner 106, International 4400, and KW 370 would be appreciated.

The KW and PB are the same, they have alot of blind spots and terrible turning radius and are know for electrical gremlins. Make sure to stay away from the CAT C7 engines, they are a night mare, they get terrible fuel economy, burn oil and can easily be damaged if you over heat one causing the rings to fail. Get the Cummins motor instead.

The DT-466 many mechanics love them, but if you over heat one you will be over hauling the motor, the rubber o-rings fail and dump coolant into the engine. This is very common for these engines.

The Freightliner would be the one to pick. Test drive them all to see what you like, put a Freightliner M series with a Cummin's is your best bet.
