Looking to get into the expedite business but my trucks don't have sleepers. Everything I think about moving isn't paying at all. Should I sell the trucks. They are presently just sitting.
What can I haul with 24ft box trucks?

24' box trucks, like a u-haul with same level floor ? (worthless for dock high loading), without a lift gate, (pretty much worthless for expedite), or what ? In a perfect world, you need to fill it each time, or get really premium rates each time, with minimal deadheading.

Lease on to that company in ocala that runs trucks that size.

I worked the bomb dump in the Air Force....we would get FedEx trucks in about your size with LTL loads of flares and bullets....

I don't know of any expediters that don't have sleepers. Expediters tend to do some sitting and you can't afford to stay in motels. When a load pops up you need to be ready to roll. You may look into local delivery, such as furniture stores or other types of local deliveries. You could check with some of the expediter carriers and see if they might have something that can work for you. Tri-State and Panther are a couple that come to mind. If there is a truck stop near you go by and pick up some of the trucking magazines. There are ads for many different carriers. You could also check the company listings on this and other trucking forums and give any that might be of interest a call.

Aoe, have you looked on uShip for stuff you can haul? I presently do driveaways only (cars, straight trucks, RV's, etc.), but there are people that need everything hauled, from antique pinball machines to army tanks. As long as you have adequate insurance, you should be able to make good money just working for uShip. As far as sleeping, who needs a sleeper? Stretch out across the seats (if they're bucket seats, get a peice of plywood cut to size and add a foam mattress) and call it a night. www.uship.com

Otherwise, you can rent the truck to me and I'll figure out how to make money driving it.
