Truck is a Volvo VNL 630 VED12 engine. This valve is located on a cross member just a the rear of the fifth wheel. It appears to be a big square valve in the center of the group, and a smaller valve on each side of it. The small one shown in the bottom of the picture leaks when brakes are applied. What are they called. The electrical plug next to it is not plugged to anything, and has a cap on it. I know Volvo will want an arm and a leg for them. I hoping I can replace what leaks for just an arm.

The big square one is a relay valve for service brakes( R12? ). The little ones to the sides are anti-lock valves. If Volvo does not offer them separate I would check the aftermarket because that assembly is expensive. If it has a metal tag on it those numbers make shopping much easier.

Have had a similar setup on previous Prostars and on my 579 Pete. If the truck has stability control and traction control enabled, those wires allow the computer to control each brake valve independently. While I hate stability control, the traction control is handy. If it senses one of the wheels spinning faster than the other, it lightly applies the brake only to that wheel so the other wheels that have better traction get the power. If your truck doesn't have that option, it still has the same wiring harness as the one's that do, hense the loose plug.

Got a friend that has the same setup on a Western Star, was leaking the same way. after replacing the assembly it still leaked, come to find out it was a brake chamber leaking on the side that the air was coming from. good luck
