What are the rules for logbooks? I am studying at home with the Texas DMV Manual to get my CDL and I haven't seen anything in the study guide about that.

Rule 1. Always make sure you hand over the logbook that shows you as being currently legal.
Rule 2. Always make sure you don't hand them more than one logbook at a time.
Rule 3. $1.99 in the truckstop buys you another 70 hrs.

how about #4. once you have more than one log book, your dispatch will expect you to use it and the "i don't have hours" excuse will no longer work.

    JoeT and SGTSmokdU Thank this.

See Rule 5. Never inform dispatch that you are using more than one log book. When questioned by dispatch and to give them heart burn, the correct answer should be..."I'm just lucky I guess because nobody asked to see it".

    teqntexas and aiwiron Thank this.
