I'm working for a company that will let me lump my own loads for nearly the full price of whatever the lumper was asking. Have any of you experimented with shoes that may be good for the aluminum floors inside reefers?

When the floor frosts over it doesn’t matter what shoe you have on. If you can afford a electric jack, buy one. Most places you’ll be able to work a side deal with a lumper or freight runner.

    • Easy pull-on styling

This is what I wore for that exact type work. You're lucky, the company letting you do the lumping for decent pay. I used to make around $500 weekly doing my own lumping when I pulled reefers. That was tax-free cash.

Just remember, if you do the work, you must log it on line 4. NO LOGGING SLEEPER, while you lump the load.

Just the standard fuel resistance soles. (Oil resistance etc)

Once in a great while the pallets would be a great threat rather than slipping, big splinters ram into that steel toe. It would have been possible to lose that foot now and then several times.

I can tell you what not to wear and that's Carolina loggers. Mine are terrible on anything metal that isn't dry.
When I was hauling cars I bought some Under Armor hunting type boots. They worked good on slippery decks and kept my feet warm in cold temps.
