All the SWIFT haters that want to make fun of how the trucks are governed. Most companies govern their trucks whether it be 63, 65, 66 etc. It's just easy to pick on the big guns.

    sweet bluebonn :D

Mines at 62, but my first truck would kick the governor off once in a while, then i felt like yea im bad....lol

why would you get fired for doing 65?

i feel like a lamo sometimes. I think its more dangerous to be governed so low, if you have shown your co you are a good driver they should bump em up a little for us. 65 is reasonable and safe.

Policy is policy. 65 is overspeed, and if their tracking system shows me overspeed for more than 5%, I'm in trouble. If it showed me overspeed at 100%, not a doubt in my mind I'd be out the door. What 3 mph anyway?

When I worked for them, it was 60 for company trucks, 62 for company teams (and trainer/trainee trucks), and 65 for lease-operators. The company trucks actually did get kicked up to 65 at one point - this was big news. I was in Iraq and heard about this.
About a month ago, there was a yellow T2000 which went flying by me on I80 in Iowa, pulling a Swift trailer. Had to have been doing 75 or close to it. Wonder how that came to be? I suppose they got slick and found out how to disable the speed governor (there are ways to do it other than having the ECM reprogrammed - no, I won't tell you how, but I will say it's especially easy with a Volvo - only takes a paper clip). And I suppose they figured out how to disconnect the Qualcomm from the ECM without cutting off the power to it (no, I won't tell you how to do that, either). But it would be moot to do, anyhow. Get a ticket at a speed faster than what you're supposed to be governed at. After they do a diagnostic on the truck, you can watch what happens to both your job and your DAC report when they find out you've been tampering with their equipment.

No. I just don't want to be an enabler and/or motivator for someone to make a bad decision which could negatively impact their career, and possibly have repercussions for their coworkers, as well.

I was running e/b I 70 in CO, approaching Limon night before last when a Swift company Prostar BLEW past me doing 75. Not 70, I'm governed at 68, he was running every bit of 75mph. Company truck white with large decals on the doors.
    How did that happen?
Are they fired? If so, better haul a before they're caught.
Scary to think the driver may be first week solo.
Just curious, if any Swifty Acres care to respond.

To clarify, if leased through the Swift program, yes they are governed. If truck is owned outright or brought in from outside Swift they are not governed, however, by contract I believe miles per hour that gets logged has a max speed allowed.
