So I've been in my own truck for 14 days at our favorite worst carrier - Western.
Either they have faith in me, want me to quit or luck of the draw. Got assigned a load to TJX in Melville NY. That is just outside NYC. Yuck, not a great drive.
The longer version....
Got my CDL 11/26
Applied to at least 20 if not 30 companies all said more experience, call back in January or just no reply.
Western said sure they put me through their new hire factory. Been running loads from Chicago to CT, FL to NY and everything in between. Learning good stuff on my own.
Definitely a entry and get out.
Western Express yep another thread

So what exactly is bad about it then? Just don't like the lanes you have been running?
tscottme, MACK E-6, snowlauncher and 4 others Thank this. -
Consider yourself fortunate and plan to put in one year at Western. Watch your money and let your attitude do the rest. Godspeed!

OP here, yes overall it is not too bad. I wouldn't say great either.
The truck shakes like all wheels are bent and need balancing. Tablet for ELD, work orders, GPS, etc is usually shaking so can't read it too well.
Driver's seat loses air so every 15 to 20 minutes or hard bump I need to readjust. Great way to keep reposition and avoid sore spots.
Running through GW and Throgs Neck bridge a few times kinda stinks but no more than a construction zone with K rails.
Truck does have an inverter but I supplied my own fridge and air fryer. No microwave.
Also bunk HVAC air filter had a half inch of dog fur and candy wrappers. Bunk heat still only blows cold air so I idle the engine overnight if below 50 outside.
Overall, given what others have said I am not surprised.mjd4277, Lonesome, Flat Earth Trucker and 9 others Thank this. -
