Got a load going to Elkins WV tomorrow. From my location I can take 33 or 250 from 81. Ive been on 33 emty was less than thrilling. Can't imagine doing with 45k behind my ###. So which is the lesser of the 2 evils? 33 or 250

33 is your best route. 250 when you leave Staunton Va is "rough". Where are you coming from?
-
Personally I'd rather have my FLHT on route 33,..
But I'll just leave these here.
Doable yes,.. dangerous and potentially deadly? Absolutely.

Coming from Raleigh NC. Probably go up 86 into VA and hit 29 to 64 over to 81
Lepton1 and OLDSKOOLERnWV Thank this. -
Settle in. Enjoy the ride. It'll be a while. Treat the hills with respect always. And you will be fine.

Any words of wisdom?TripleSix and OLDSKOOLERnWV Thank this. -
33 probably the best of the 2 roads.
Me.... I'd probably run I-77 up to Beckley WV and jump on 19 North, that dumps you out on I-79 at exit 57. Jump off exit 99 and boogie in from that way. I've ran 33 loaded with lumber before, be like the Oregon trail.

And 19 is 4 lane too, takes ya across the New river Gorge bridge.
-
Either way prepare for them hills. I've never been on us 250 in wv, only Ohio but I have been on 19&119 pretty hilly in some spots

33 it's going to be. Got to pull in Harrisonburg truck stop and stock up on those fried pies first.
OLDSKOOLERnWV Thanks this.
