Trust me, big carriers DO NOT listen to their drivers, never have and never will. Their turnover rates prove that I am correct.![]()

They do have a mic I had a newer one in a previous truck where I could voice messages like my cell phone. Now whether or not the company could listen in no idea

One thing I can say for sure about werner. They really try to keep you. That's how when I was there I got a 19 frieghtliner (it was supposed to be a Kenworth but let's not talk about that) and hometime kind of when I want it. Like weekly hometime on the 48 state account. But currently I'm earning .10 more cpm at Shaffer getting I feel like more miles. If only werner changed my fleet manager like I requested a week or so before I left then I might be still there

I can’t possibly imagine anyone listening in even if they could. Lets say one Fleet manager has 40 trucks and eves drops on each for 5 minutes a day, that would take 3.3 hrs. Most of it would be cab noise. I’m pretty sure they would need to disclose it as well if they could capture or listen to audio.

You could find one that is broken an open it an check.
Not to hard to get in such things, and should be fairly easy to ID if there is a mic or not.
I have to agree with @GypsyWanderlust tho. I doubt they have the desire to listen to people fart, #####, sing, err...getting "naughty", talking to yourself, talking to yourself while getting "naughty", your music, tv or movies, your video games, eating, etc etc etc. That's time that could be used on planning next load, dealing with current, screwing with other's loads just for fun, thinking up new ways to "reschedule", brainstorm reasons to say no to layover pay, etc.
So while it may have a mic, I doubt it's recording, I also doubt anyone would be willing to pay someone to sit and listen to drivers doing all the above. If your carrying high value loads or something like that..I could see it being done. In that case I would imagine the driver would know he's being recorded.
Just having fun, I'm not picking on the paranoid folks.
Sirscrapntruckalot - They really are out to get you.
