    seeking help from experienced truckers.
at first, i had tire wear in the middle of my steering tires, replaced both shocks, now I'm noticing this weird driver side front tire wear on the outside shoulder step, total 3 spots. I've heard a lot of causes, some said its kingpin problem, alignment, steering rod, air pressure etc. trying to get a reasonable accurate probable cause. ANY INFO HELPS. THANKS ALOT

I had an alignment issue that wore the outside of my drivers side steer, similar to yours.

It's probably the easiest thing to check out first.

As an aside, with my car (at least), any time suspension pieces are replaced (shocks, struts, control arms) I have an alignment done.

    To be clear.
You have these spots only the outside left tire?
Right tire and the inside off the left wear normal?

Start with changing your rear shocks, get an all axle alignment and check the balance on all the tires.

You could have them check the king pins with a dial indicator (the right way to do it) but I think it is more likely this is a rear shock issue.

Outside wear is toe set too close, inside wear is toe set too wide, tires worn on outside edges is low inflation, tires worn in center is over inflation, cupping is usually worn kingpins and/or tie rod ends.

i had some similar wear, that seems to have gone away with my current set of steer tires, changes i made that seemed to fix it was new shocks, and stopped using balancing beads. the set before i had a alignment done put new steers on and they were wearing like that within 40k miles, pulled them put them on a trailer changed the steer shocks and installed another set of the same tires without using beads have 60k miles on them and wearing perfectly.

While everyone's on here I could use some advice for my steers. They are Chinese TransKings and are wearing on the insides abnormally. My question is my American steers has a max cold psi of 110. These are 120. Should I be running them at 120? I know they are cheap but I've only out 8000 or so miles on them would like them to last at least 6 months so I can throw some firestones on. My truck loves Chinese drive tires and I've had really good results with them. No irregular wear ever. Thanks in advance

    How old are your shocks?

Tire wear on the outer parts of the tire could be attributed to overinflated tires.

What PSI are in presently running in your steer tires?

Personally I never liked or used Chinese made tires on my vehicle.

I think there isn't enough quality control on their products, so the consumer market gets flooded with alot of inferior products.
