The two worst scales in my opinion are Banning on 10 and Chowchilla on 99, both in California. Chowchilla is slowly catching up to Banning as being the worst ones to deal with. The easiest one(s) in my opinion? I would say the super scales in Florida(love that 45 mph weigh in motion as long as the driver in front of me can read!) and Wisconsin is usually a breeze too.

Meh. NY at least has the decency to put the inspection stations (be it permanent or temporary) on the RIGHT side of the roadway. Trucks trying to fight their way left only makes the messed-up DC metro traffic more of a headache.

I forgot about Chowchilla on the 99. I even got shut down there on some BS. The emergency air line on my #5 axle going between the 2 maxi cans was wearing in to the second color. The officer MADE that hose leak 2 single air bubbles by twisting and bending and messing with the hose. Sprayed it with the soap water and went "Look, you have an airline leak, you're out of service, calla mobile repair guy" So, $200 dollars, and 12 hours later I got to make my delivery about 20 miles up the road.

Worst scale is the Point of Entry at Evanston WY. Always get stoped there. Never been wrote up because i keep my truck in great working order, but always have to at least stop and go inside.
Scales don't bother me that much other then just the hassel of stoping and going inside. Iam glad they do there job, to many clowns driving that can't do a pre-trip for nothing. Get these clowns off the road, they make us all look bad. -
I've always found the best scales are when you're polite and courteous and the bad ones are when you are not. I know there are some that are bad no matter what you do so it's best to be polite and be on your way as soon as you can. A joke now and then helps but be sure it's not a wiseazz joke to where he or she might take it wrong. Yeah, polite and professional has always worked for me.
I always liked when I hauled overloads and they'd call me in and ask "Do you know how much you weigh"? And I'd say alot I know! But I'd have all the paperwork including the permits for that state, the one I came out of, and the one I'm going into all lined up for them to take a look.
