Anyone that has changed the weatherstripping on your sleeper storage box doors, what kind of adhesive do you recommend I buy?

I'm assuming after I cut the old one off, I'll have to take a heat gun and melt away all the old adhesive so that the new weatherstrip sticks cleanly?

I've used this in a few different applications. Works great. Glued the exterior door moldings of one of my cars back on when the factory 2 sided tape failed. Never came off again.

Some high end 3M tape will work as well if can’t find anything else. Just make sure it is weather and perm sticking tape.

If it is a metal insert in the channel that fits the metal, then you don't need adhesive, you crimp it to the metal.

The only places i’d glue would be the corners and a few inches on each end at the splice. That will help with expansion and shrinkage during extreme temp and climate changes. This helps keep the corners from sagging and the joint from pulling apart.

I replaced the sleeper door on the ICT and side water door - I got some from Amazon, but ran into an issue with it not being quite right - and the lock mechanism would either be too loose and not seal, or too tight and not latch. Bought 2 sets of different size.

A little adhesive in the corners to handle shrink/expand should be all you need.

I settled at an unhappy medium, so I'll be interested to see how this works out for you.
