Just reaching out here.. first time. I bought a 95 Pete with a 5ek cat. It cane with a reman water pump and everything included in the box needed. I ran the truck about 2 months then it started dripping out the weep hole. After about a week it got worse and I thought hell I have the reman, let’s thriw it on. Ran the reman for a couple days and noticed... there’s oil coming out the week hole! It’s really small drip maybe a couple drops when parked for 30 minutes. But it’s making a mess and why the heck oil?? The water in the top pan is clean.. a guy said it will seal off, it hasn’t done that but hasn’t got worse. I ordered a cat reman now, can’t renember what the one I put on was.. but anyone ever seen this ?
Thanks
Zack

Also it was water antifreeze the first time

I think those water pumps bolt into the front gear train on those engines. I'm guessing a failed or defective seal on the gear train side would cause engine oil to work past the bearing and out the weep hole. On the first pump it was likely the seal on the coolant side that was leaking.

Those are gear driven, so you have and oil seal on one side, then the open cavity in between where the weep hole, then the coolant seal on the other side. This prevents fluid cross contamination. If the reman pump had been sitting unused for any length of time, it is possible some rust formed on the shaft and this is why the seal is leaking a bit. This should be a very slow leak and stop after a while as the seal works away the rust. If lots of oil is coming, or doesn't get better, then you need to replace it again.
SAR Thanks this. -
Yep it was sitting for awhile, thanks I believe this is right now.
