Hello, When delivering household items, furniture, appliances to a warehouse, what are questions you ask? Any requirements, best practices, or checklists? I am looking for a warehouse to receive donated items and I want to be fully informed on what receiving / logistics needs to consider as far as loading docks, receiving staff, equipment etc. Also looking for the knowledge and considerations for the distribution process. Tracking or inventory recommendations welcome as well! Thank you!

None of the big boy distribution center warehouses you see all over the place will talk to you.
Does the general public drop off? Or by the semi load? Does everything need sorted, stacked on skids, shrink wrapped, and stored? Stored for how long? How many sku’s? (Part numbers). Only 1 sku per skid or mixed? What mode to ship back out? Lots of questions and the more complicated the more expensive.SM1303 Thanks this. -

I mention money a lot because even if your charity is well funded, every wasted dollar is another dollar that doesn’t help someone. So you’ll want to run it like a business, which I’m sure you already know but worth mentioning. -
Man oh man thats tricky. By " donated" do u mean just any one can donate it, or is there a requirement. New, or still in box?
How much are you expecting? No body wants to unload a trailer of tables by hand. Then restock them in the whare house then restock them in the next trailer.
More info required. I have several years of moving experiance. And thats Problaly not even a grams worth compared to what you will find here. -
