Hey truckers, I'm looking to buy my first semi. I've been in the industry for around 6 months so far and I'm loving it. If like to become an owner operator soon, but want a semi with a small sleeper. I don't plan on going over the road so that's why I don't want a massive truck. Can you guys recommend make/model of semis with compact sleepers.
Thanks for the help!!
Want to buy a truck, looking for something with a small sleeper. Need suggestions.

I'll be honest. If you're asking this question then you need more seat time and be more of a observer when you're out here. But all the manufactures make trucks with coffin sleepers it just all depends on the specs of the tractor that you want if you're buying used. What ever work your gonna do should reflect the truck you purchase seeing as how there is no one size fits all

What's your budget?
I really like extended day cab sleepers. It has just enough room for small size bed to lay down but still make it manageable for a daycab. Google it -

I'd like to spend 30-40k. Im open to a Volvo/freightliner. I'd like a Cummins or a Detroit diesel.

My brother is wanting to sell his '01 Classic XL with a 48" flattop. Has 550 hp 1850 torque ISX Cummins in it.

Go to truck paper go to detailed search and put in sleeper size.

Age of truck will have a bearing on the smallest sleeper available.
I see companies spec smallsleepers, like McNay of Quincy, IL, and the Stars they have are good looking. They also spec Peterbilt with a small standup sleeper, and maybe others, but the WS and Peterbilt stand out.Last edited: Jan 18, 2016
