Seriously, it is not all that much fun and the pay is not that great, but if you really want to do it contact a local repo company in your home area. You can find some job postings for recovery agents on towcareers.com or other such sites, repotimes.com was a trade magazine and used to have job listings but it is easiest to find a local agent and see if they are hiring. There are not that many that do just big trucks and you may have better luck working for a mega carrier lease purchase type company in their recovery department. Swift, among others, has their own recovery division that picks up abandoned company and lease trucks along with their wrecked trucks and trailers. I do not know how to get into that division, I just know they exist from when I was driving tow truck, we would deck (stack the tractors on top of each other piggy back style) for them and sometimes we would go tow the truck to our yard and store it for a few days until they picked it up. I also towed abandoned trucks for Werner and they had their own tow trucks but could not keep up with the volume.

Have you looked into being a recovery driver for one of the megas? Swift, Werner, CRE, Schneider, etc. They need someone to go get their trucks after they are abandoned.

Is there a particular truck that needs to get picked up first? I wonder

alot of the wrecker companies, repo work is one part of their work. Contact the HD Towing companies in your area and they ought to point you in the right direction.
