various walmart DC’s in my area are hiring yard drivers. Most of my experience is doing local ltl 10-14 stops a day type of work. I’m sure being a switcher in those giant DC’s is no walk in the park. I’m just looking for information about the hiring process, pay, etc. Thanks.

They start all yard switchers out at .38 cpm, per the new head of operations.

I have a spotless driving record. Several years experience. I have applied for the yard goat position here several times over the years. Always get declined. I am in a Walmart store TODAY and a guy is stocking shelfs with a tattooed face neck and forehead. I must be doing something wrong.

You must be a liberal and willing to accept food stamps to work for wally

I am not sure how you can equate willing to WORK for Walmart with accepting food stamps, but hey, to each their own.

When I worked there we had a guy that ran the motorized floor cleaner that wouldn't shower, shave, had beat up clothes, etc..He always hit the corners of end caps and chased down customers on his machine. Management asked him to cut his hair, he said it's against my religion. So yeah, you are doing something wrong

Do a Google search. Glass door has them around $21 an hour.....

If Walmart is anything like Grocery DC's, you'll be making over 100 moves per day. If you planned on leaving LTL P&D for greener pastures, it might not be what you expect. Making that many moves per day can be exhausting work...especially if you have swing doors. But at least Walmart pays better than Amazon. They list their Yard Jockeys as a non CDL position and pay around $14 an hour.
Good luck.VIDEODROME and foggy Thank this. -
