i would like to put dual round w900A style headlights on my 1995 w900B. I've seen B's on truckpaper with round headlights but have had zero luck finding round headlights as a conversion kit or oem setup for that matter. Any suggestions??![]()

It's more than just headlights it's most likely the hood as well. Look up Jones Performance truckrodz hood. They make hoods for the W900L with A model headlights. I'm sure they could make one for your B as well.

I have a brand new set in my cellar ready to go into my 2000 W900B as soon as I get a chance to put it down for a few days. Putting them in the B model hood is going to require some fiberglass work first, as the rectangular bucket holes are a heck of a lot wider but not as tall, so I'm going to have a local guy do the glass so I can just install the new buckets myself. The placement of the new round buckets is critical too, because there's not a lot of room from bottom to top in the flat surface area where they will sit; so careful measurements need to be determined so you end up with a little bit of a reveal when you put the chrome bezel on at the end. It'll look goofy if they're sitting too high. Not much room for error there.
I bought a few sets of the round headlight buckets. All of them came from Ebay in the Commercial Truck Parts section. I replaced the old ratty ones in my 78 W900A when I restored it two winters ago with one set, I have a set sitting, and the other set I put in another truck and sold it.
It's just a typical 4 round bulb system that a lot of truck mfg.ers used...KW, Pete, Freightliner, White, Marmon, etc. They range anywhere from $180.00 a set to well over $300.00, depending on who's selling them at the moment. I'm thinking I got my last set from some fella in Ohio that had a lot of them last fall, for $289.00 plus shipping.
To enhance the lighting, I also ordered a set of low beam, plug-&-play round LED bulbs, because once you get a taste of that nice white LED light, it's pretty derned tough to go back to the yellow, dim incandescent ones.clausland, MJ1657 and Gambino1994 Thank this. -
Yea I was just looking at the round ones on eBay, I also forgot about jones hoods. I'm going to call them tomorrow I bet they'll know for sure.
I just like this look better..
It looks like a nice original fit -
Probably need some fibreglass work done. Possibly some paint. This is what the headlight cutouts on an A look like:

That's a given that you need to do some glass work. Either that or buy a $5,000.00 custom hood already set up.
I took a few pics for a visual just now. It shows the difference in length and height from rectangular to round buckets. Rounds are about 13" wide, rectangulars are 15.75"...
I often thought about just cutting the OEM buckets to accept the round ones but that also entails having to trim the fiberglass above and below them anyway, so in the long run it's quicker and less hassle (and cleaner) to remove them and start fresh with a good, flush mounting surface.Last edited: Oct 18, 2016

Very good pics w900a, I called jones and they basically said they could make a hood with blanks where the headlights go, and I could cut out whatever I wanted to from it. The guy also said they have never really done that though, leading me to believe the round lights in the trucks in the pics were achieved another way. I'll just have to take the lights out and compare your measurements in your pics

That's right, it's usually done by way of customization on an individual basis. That results in a lot more affordable job too. When I do mine, I'm going to blank out the OEM holes with a sheet of aluminum, then mount the round buckets in them for structural integrity then finish up with cloth and resin. End result should be nice.

The trucks in the pics were speced out with round headlights from the factory. They were available as of about 10 years ago that way. I would bet a pretty penny that the original owner of the trucks in the above pics is Robinson Transport out of Salina, Ut
