I have a 2004 W900 with the newest rear suspension. I've only had this truck for a short time and have been experiencing a really rough ride. I've had front leaf springs and shocks replaced, as well as steer tires. I measured rear air ride height and it's in spec according to KW dealer. Anyone have an idea why this thing rides so rough? It's 275 in wbase tall 22.5 rubber. Front end rode great when the leaf spring broke on one side. Almost like springs are too stiff and rear drives hit hard even on little bumps.

Possibly the ride height control?? Looks like original. I currently have 869000 miles on truck.

The brand of tires have a huge effect on ride. What brand tires do you have? On one of my trucks I had Michelin XZA 2 on the steering, and my friend with an identical truck from the same fleet had XZA 2 front tires.

He drove my truck and could not believe the difference in the ride. He soon switched to the XZA 2 like I had, and his truck then rode as good as mine.

Is this the 8 bag airride with the short bags on it? If so,thats your problem!

Make sure the cab air bags are aired up. That's a nasty ride if they de-flate.

Tires are Dunlop. Ride was a little better before leaf springs were replaced. I messed with the cab airride awhile back. Less air is softer ride, right??

Check the cab shocks by the air bags, if they are bad you have a rough ride, but i think i would leave the cab air bags at factory spec.

If you lower the volume of air in the cab air bag all you do is lower the height. If the height is lower chances are the cab is bottoming out all the time.

That's not necessarily true...I have 8 Bag with the short bags on it and my W900L rides as smooth as glass. I had a ride issue recently and it turned out to be the leveling valve was going out. I replaced it and the problem went away. Check your rear shocks as well 'cause they can make the ride a little choppy.

I pull the same trailer most of the time and a few months ago I had a vibration that I couldn't find and I finally figured out that it was the shocks on my trailer...Go figure.

I would never recommend lowereing the air ride on the cab 'cause that can make the truck ride rough as hell and it can bottom out on severe bumps and that's never a good thing.
