I recently had to replace the driver said wiper arm on my Kenworth W900. After replacing the wipers won’t move with the hood down since the hood is touching the arm. I tried to force the arm farther onto the spline, but it will not budge. Anyone have a similar experience?

Sounds to me like your hood guide perches are bent or otherwise damaged. They should be straight, but i see lots bent down from having the hood pushed closed on them. That allows the hood to go too far back toward the cab.

Take the arm off and turn the arm UP a notch or 2 on the spline. Yes it will look 'funny'. Take it out of the ark of the hood.

I am familiar with the hood pins but not the perches. Where are those located? Thanks for the help

On the firewall on both sides. It is what the back of the hood rests on

If it is an areocab w9, the brackets bolted to the ribs on the hood that sit on the nipples have wallered out the bolt holes letting the hood to drop. It is a poor design. You will have to fab some metal straps and fab a new base for the brackets to bolt to. If they are you should also replace the rubber bushings and alum hinges on the front of hood as well.

    Feedman Thanks this.

They are the flat tabs that the pins bolt to. Slotted mounting holes for hood alignment, and the pin on the end. They should be straight, but often in the case of a blow-over or someone just pushing the hood closed they get bent. If the hood isnt square when it closed the guide lands on top of the pin as opposed to going down over it and it bends the perch.

Another thing if it is one of them there Aerocab trucks, if the air bags on the back of the sleeper are over filled that would put your firewall in the way of the hood.
