I really like the sleekness of the flattop w900 and really have no need for the raised roof in most cases seeing that I pull a flatbed. However, with the step down, would that be enough for me to still be able to stand up im yhe sleeper being 5' 11" tall? It seems like it would after standing in the midroof and seeing how much extra head space I had.

    Looking forward to your answers.

Flattop modual sleeper no. The areocab Flattop yes. I'm 6 ft 4 in and my head just touches the roof in a areocab flattop.

Well,I know this- I don't know about head clearance.........But it doesn't get any better than a W-900 true flattop truck when it comes to resale- Huge Demand when you Sell 1 in cherry Condition-I even think dealerships would give you more than a raised roof

I agree, go with the raised roof. Little better aerodynamically too. Used to be, you could always tell who were running big motors, they had flat roofs and no wind deflectors of any kind.

Not a w9 but same cab and the sleeper is actually off of a w9. Could you stand up in a flat top version? No. This one even happens to be a double bunk.

Now that is a sweet setup. YAY!

As far as I am concerned I spent enough time in a volvo with a raised roof mid roof sleeper. That's the key, being able to stand up. It is such a huge difference in quality of life.

Just as I posted. A Flattop modual Is Only Connected By A Rubber boot. (You will have a back wall in the cab). Areocab flattop is integrated togethter. (No wall between bunk and cab). The areocab Flattop is a little higher than a modual flattop, but not as high as an arodyne bunk.

Then what i am looking at is aerocab flattop! :) i don't need the midroof if i can stand up. I don't want the windows uo there that could leak...

Actually leaking is the least of your problems considering the side boxes under your bunk on both sides.

You want at least one window large enough to escape through as a last resort because if something happens and these new trucks burn, they will really burn quickly. If you had no way out, you burn too.

Now, some will wonder wtf does burn have to do with midroof topic etc. I explain to those that I have a bent mind towards a form of risk management in worst case scenarios that are possible. It's because of that bent thinking I have managed to see a problem before it really is a problem several times in life. Otherwise myself and others would not still be living.
