You have to change from outsude of truck. Not to bad but you will have to recover the freon. Thats the worst part of the whole deal if you do it yourself and don't have a ac machine.

I work on kenworths everyday and if you are only changing heater core you don't need to disconnect the a/c lines, only the expansion valve needs to be unbolted from cover

talking about heater cores...kenworth did a great job on theirs...the international we have....OH MY. Its up under the passenger seat...and costs a wopping 600 bucks. We had thought the core was clogged...wasn't getting heat...ended up being the shutoff valve that is under the seat. Well to of our young workers were putting it on last night and busted two lines going into the core when they were trying to get the core back in. International didn't even keep one in stock...special order. Needless to say we tried a Western Star and Kenworth (Had two old cabs) and they wouldn't work...lines came out wrong. Was going to put flashing around them and seal them in. I ended up going to Napa and getting one for a Ford Car. Cut some flashing out to fit and sealed the flashing in. It was a bit smaller and we have a little less air flow. But the driver will be plenty warm...and we saved 520 bucks. Lesson learned....WATCH YOUNG HELP!! The Western Star design was the best. It just slides out. Little more work to the Kenworth...but both easier than the Internatinal. lol
