I have a 2011 Volvo t670 sleeper. Just recently the exterior lights have started coming on spontaneously overnight. The switch stays in the off position!!

Here's the details. I'm driving around with lights on. At the end of the day I turn off the lights. Turn off the ignition. Lock up and leave. The next morning I come in and the headlights are on. Truck is locked, light switch is in off position. I get in, click the switch on/off and they go off. What they hay?

This has hope 3 times in the last couple of weeks. Any ideas?

    Thanks

Is it the day time running lights or the headlights that are on?

    Headlights and all running lights.

It sounds like it could be a defective Light Control Module causing the lights to stay on.

What does it look like and where is it located?

I miss the days of wire going from a switch to a light!

It should be a rectangular black box located under your fuse block assembly.

I see a bunch on eBay around $200. I'll check dealer on Monday. Are they interchangeable from year to year? Do you know if it's easily accessible or do I have to take apart half the interior?

I would get the OEM part # first according to the VIN on your truck and do a Google Search to see what pricing options you can find.

You can find alot of New Surplus OEM parts up to 75% off at www.dexheavydutyparts.com

I needed a OEM Volvo actuator motor for the power door locks on mine and the Stealership wanted $320 for it, DEX had some OEM New Surplus ones sealed in Volvo packaging for $110.

I have a 1st Generation Volvo VNL 1997-2003, so the dissassembly of the dash is different then your model year.

If you Google Volvo VNL Service Manual you can find a Download where you can get instructions on the location and how to disassemble the whole truck if need be.
