Layman’s terms: Customers are getting sick and tired of the BULL**** that they experience at the dealership. Especially if they want to spec out a truck to their needs and certain manufacturers say that they can’t (or won’t) do it!
(looking at you PACCAR-glorified,overpriced POS)Blagoje, bzinger, drvrtech77 and 3 others Thank this. -
The day this happens in the US I will talk to them. I actually like and use my local Volvo dealer for service and parts. I don't like the prices on the parts but I like the service since I have a new truck that means I have to have access to dealer level diagnostics. However, their dealer/sales side is a disaster.
I hate car dealer/dealerships in general. I hate the whole outdated, BS business model. It's beyond ludicrous.mjd4277, bzinger, drvrtech77 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Arn’t most of the longtime volvo dealers just leftovers from the White Motor days? Back towards the end of their “Big 4” regime after they sold off Diamond Reo and Western Star and dissolved the deal with CF so Freightliner would become their own show you could not get anything custom spec from them. It was how they built it or nothing. One of the big reasons they went under and had to sell out their soul to volvo. Guess 40 years later volvo is finally learning from their predecessors mistakes.
bzinger and TheLoadOut Thank this. -
Wasn’t ford also recently talking about getting rid of the dealers for sales? Just having them for service work
