I've read on here a lot of guys saying do not buy Volvos because the proprietary engine is too hard to service and find parts for and it's too expensive. Anybody on here want to tell me about their experience owning and/or operating Volvos?

'01 with a Cummins N14, 1.8mm no inframe. Very quiet and smooth riding truck.
Doesn't need any more maintenance than any other truck, pre-emissions that is.

Getting a Volvo serviced is not a problem a standard pm is no different then any other engine. For repairs usually you will have to find a dealer. There are some local shops that do work on volvos and are very good. Mine is a newer motor and is still under warranty so any work that n dis done is done at the dealer. I haven't had too much trouble getting in a dealer shop although I have herd of people waiting a couple of days. That being said I have also herd of that with other manufacturers
