Anyone with a volvo change out their taillight. Well I had one go out and rather than go to volvo to get one I brought 2 LED lights and the pigtails. hook everything up brake light turn and 4 way work fine but getting an open circuit on right and left brake light and I have 2 LEDs in each light that wont go out they are very dim

Yes I changed mine out and if you switch to LED you have to have the computer changed out. One of the downsides of having a computer tell you when you have a light out is that it does this by measuring amps. Your computer thinks it has a problem with the lights.

    Mr. PlumCrazy Thanks this.

I don't know what for LED units you got, but on the Volvo the white wire is the ground(unlike everything else in the rest of the world), red and brown(or maybe black) are the park and turn/brake, not sure which one is what.

Would resistors fix this? My truck doesn't have a "vehicle ecm" but resistors were necessary making l.e.d. turns on 4 corners work right.
