Yes I changed mine out and if you switch to LED you have to have the computer changed out. One of the downsides of having a computer tell you when you have a light out is that it does this by measuring amps. Your computer thinks it has a problem with the lights.
Mr. PlumCrazy Thanks this. -
No matter what Volvo will win any Ideal what it cost for the computer change

I don't know what for LED units you got, but on the Volvo the white wire is the ground(unlike everything else in the rest of the world), red and brown(or maybe black) are the park and turn/brake, not sure which one is what.

it was 20 mins worth of work

Would resistors fix this? My truck doesn't have a "vehicle ecm" but resistors were necessary making l.e.d. turns on 4 corners work right.

I know this is a old post but can't find any info on this matter. So did anyone know how to fix this problem with check light open circuit. Thanks I have a 2007 Volvo

Effect resistor will solve the problem if running led lights

I am planning to change the taillight to LED, what size/type of resistor should I use?
thanks
