:biggrin_2556: Alright, y'all I need some info from the experts on this one.... I am thinking about doing an engine overhaul on my 2007 Volvo. I have VED-12 engine in it with 465 horses. The truck now has about 1016000 miles. So I need some approx prices to see how much I can expect to spend on this.....

Congrats on making it past a million in a Volvo engine. Not sure on prices, you may want to call the dealer and some other shops. More than likely, you will not be able to get after market kits for the engine.

Why are you considering doing an overhaul? I've seen those engines go 1.5 million miles plus.

Last one we did including injectors and turbo ran around 16k. I think with the parts and all and it has to be oem if u want to get it done right replacing liners pistons head ure probably going to be somewhere around 11k or so being that u do at a shop and not the dealer sometimes they get ridiculously expensive. Something u might want to think of is asking volvo how much a long block costs it come remaned from the factory with a really good warranty that cover everything and I don't think there is a huge price difference When I say long block I mean from the Valve cover to the oil pan everything new nothing on the sides. This is how it comes.

I have just called volvo last night to see what they would quote me, I am expecting a call back from them. I have already replaced the turbo last year (when it crapped out on me), I also had two injectors replaced last year in the beginning of the year, but I will follow up with Volvo and see what they are going to quote me, I do want something that gives me a good warranty since I am spending a whole bunch of $$$ on it :D

O boy! I hope that mine goes that much. Well, I was thinking about doing the overhaul so that I have a good running truck. I mean even so far I have not had any major problems with it, the only big thing that I had to have replaced is the turbo last year, and two injectors. Other than that it still runs strong. I have just recently noticed that it is starting to loose some of its power when I got to go up a steep mountain. It is not pulling as strong as it was before.

Thank you, thank you. I mean my engine is still running strong, I do not have any major problems with it. I do keep up regular maintenance and yes I do have a Volvo mechanic on hand that keeps tabs on it every two weeks just to make sure that everything is in tact.

Just maintain it a little closer than before. Do regular oil samples especially.

For the loss of power check the air filter, run the overhead, and check the charge air cooler.

    Meho1969 Thanks this.

I have not noticed anything wrong with the oil consumption. It does not waste oil, does not leak anywhere, and it always has the same oil level. I have a mechanic do a check up on it, and fix anything if needed every two weeks. I never had issues with it burning, or loosing oil.
