Volvo ECM Password Removal

    I have a 2013 Volvo VNL 760 that I recently had to replace the ECM on. I’ve tried to turn the speed limit up on it and it’s asking me for a password which it didn’t do with the old ECM. Does anyone know how to remove this password.

    Is it a used ecm? If so then you may have to take it to Volvo or someone who can reset it. I think Detroit had a default password of all zeros.

    No it's brand new. I've spoken with Volvo corporate in Greensboro NC and they can't tell me why there is a password on it now. They also told me to try the four zeros but it didn't work.

    there is no backdoor for volvo so dealer would need to reset the password it is usually 4 0 but sometimes not when they flashed ecm with stock parameters also went to the password that the truck had a trip to the dealer should get this removed.
