Good day everyone,
I’m changing the egr valve metal gasket on my 2010 Volvo with the d13 engine. This will be the 3rd time I’m changing the same gasket in two months. Two weeks ago I changed the gasket to include new bolts, torqued them 50 to 51ft lbs but it’s leaking again. Every time I change I clean both surfaces, the egr valve and manifold, both surfaces looks good I don’t see or feel any damage. I’m about to change it again and thought I check to see if anyone have had similar issue and how was it mitigated. Like always, any help and suggestions will be highly appreciated!
Thanks and be safe!

There is a special page Volvo uses to put together manifold I can try to find the number for u it plugs up the little holes pretty good did you try to tap the holes I know threads will get messed up most of the time and maybe they won’t let u right it all the way

Nas, thanks a lot. No I have not thought about tapping the holes but I will today. If it leaks again I’m bringing to you to do it for me.

Problem solved. I did what Nasriza suggested. Tapped and cleaned out the holes, it appeared there’s some old anti-seize mixed with a little rust left in the holes. Installed the EGR valve with new gasket and that’s all she wrote. It’s been over a week now and no leak.
Thanks for all the suggestions especially to Nasriza!Bakerman, KB3MMX and daf105paccar Thank this.
