We cant give advice on the big snip here. Fourm owners down allow it sadly. Best we can say is consider the pros and cons carefully and good luck.

Only advice I can give is it's Illegal....many shops will not work on them because they will get fined Big time and up to jail time.....also if you break down anywhere but where you live most won't work on them...I've seen a guy put his truck in the shop and withheld info that truck was deleted shop found out and refused to put his truck back together and he had to tow it home another down side is you have to really know what you're doing any mechanic anybody because you can mess up other components on the truck.....my advice is take your truck to a shop whom specializes in emissions and get it fixed properly also invest in a self diagnostic tool that can force regen and clear codes etc that you yourself can plug into.... Good luck driver hope this helps...oftentimes you have bad wiring and sensors that mess up on the d13...also you have to make sure your filters are clean and that it's burning properly it's so much to the system even getting parts right now is hard...

legally, dealerships are required to alert the feds and hold your truck until the system works.
In todays shop turnaround that could take months waiting on parts and rack up a $10k+ repair bill before the fuzz sends their bill.
resale value will be poops as well, unless you can get a cash buyer.
Kinda like banging your cousin.. sure, it is a solution, but it can go bad quickly.runningman0661, Ffx95 and Wasted Thyme Thank this. -
Good vs bad delete I have seen is 9 bad to one good. Just because you can get truck to operate without warning lights and derates doesn't mean it is operating correctly and efficiently.
AModelCat and Wasted Thyme Thank this. -
I wonder if DOT would put you OoS if they notice the emissions have been deleted. I heard Carb in commiefornia will give you a very hard time about it.

I dont give a rip if your xxxx is deleted. Just can't work on the engine. Heres your hacked truck back. Have a nice day.........LoneRanger, QUALITYTRUCK, Big Road Skateboard and 1 other person Thank this. -
If it's deleted right, all good. If done wrong, it will cost much more than emissions issues. Dealerships in my area don't care. They won't work on it if they know.
No, they can't tell it's been deleted by hooking up or looking at it, if done right.
DOT doesn't give 2F's, not their department. California included.
Done right, more HP, less money spent on emissions related issues, better fuel economy.cowboymagic81, spsauerland and Goodysnap Thank this. -
Other than the soot on the stack.........QUALITYTRUCK and spsauerland Thank this.
