Volvo but hood latch handle broke

    Have a Volvo vhd 2002 the hood latch handle broke and can't get hood open! I've tried pulling both cables but only one side unlatches. I would like to get rid of the hood latch all together and put external latches on? Any tricks to opening hood? And has anyone changed from the car style hood latch for external hood latch?

    You will need to reach under the front wheel well of the side of the Hood that's not unlatching.

    There will be a plastic Access Cover attached to the underside of the Wheel Well with (4) four Torx bolts that you will need remove to access the Latch Assembly.

    Once you remove the Access Cover you can use your fingers to move the latch arm to release the Hood.

    Yes you can put a External Hood Latch on, but why?

    Just install a new Hood Latch Cable,they rarely break in the first place.

    Good advice but I just went ahead and fixed it the normal way! But I always have all 3 items at hand!
