I just picked up a load that has 40,500 pounds in it and there’s nowhere to get scaled and it looks like most of the weight s toward the front and in the middle so I’m not too worried about the trailer tandem axle weights and I’ve got 53 psi reading on the drive axle airbags. Am I legal to run this load?

Probably. Any truck I ever drove had to be somewhere around 60 psi, give or take a couple pounds. You need to start writing down what your airbag pressure is at various weights. When you find out the pressure when you are at max weights on the tractor, it will make things a lot easier on you.

Scale empty, weight / psi = xx pounds per psi
72 truck 84 trailer is 34/34, 154 psi total with the light weight suspension under my reefer, 85/80 = 165 on my dump puts me at 99k
don’t know why in this day and age with everything being on air these are not standard on all equipment
